A parallel fold or also know as a quarter fold or double fold is where the piece is folded in half and then folded in half again. The folds are parallel to each other. Parallel folds are commonly used for all kinds of brochures, stationery inserted into business envelopes, narrow book formats, books printed two-up, maps and other materials. On a Parallel fold there are 4 panels per side that can be used to separate information and the front panel is on the back side of the document. It can also be used for mailing and only requires 1 tab to secure. Normally used on paper 8.5 x 14 and larger.
